I started yesterday about 5, took my time, didnt start on it til about 3 today, I'm in no hurry to really finish it, but I'd like to get it done tomorrow. Today I exterminated the last bits of faildom from it and began putting mtx accessories in it. Pedals, S/R master cylinder, clutch cylinder, pilot bearing, and mtx crank position sensor are in so far

I started the day off by loosening the axles and they slid out of the hubs with ease, but i couldnt for the life of me get them out of the tranny. Sooo using a little ingenuity I figured wtf, I'll just drop it whole. I had 2 jacks, but one having a tiny top portion I knew it wouldnt support all that , especially unbalanced. Instead I found a box and as the pic shows I literally dropped it into a cardboard box. That way it got off the engine, and the collapse of the sides of the box slowed the tranny so as not to damage it. I then slid it out to the edge of the garage where it remains for the night. The fluid in it and the tq converter smells terrible, I guess afer 40k it'll do that  I have like new axles pulled from the jy and the 98 tranny to go in tomorrow morning, I'm hoping to get it done by the evening.  While I'm doing the epic workfest I'm also changing oil, the radiator, spark plugs, and fuel filter(it's a lot easier when you stand where the tranny should be) I need to do ball joints and tie rods while I'm at it, but I'll wait til my plate is clean from this before I go back for seconds

Ya the axles have to be popped out Zach due to a c-clip that holds them in place. With this you get a pry bar and wedge it between the hub going into the transmission and using a method of trying to popping them out(can be tricky). Otherwise your progress is doing well. Keep us informed on how it is going for you on your days of progress.

today went by slowly, jjnrnr of tz came over and I helped him get some pullies installed, so most of the day I waited for a jack while he figured that ish out. Then we managed to get the tranny up mounted to the d.s. mount, but I'm having a hard time getting  it to mate up with the motor properly, I guess I'll try again in the a.m...

Dark star motor mounts is if you mean by D.S. I haven't heard really any feedback of anybody having them on there car unless I am that far out of the loop. This could be a reason why you are having such a hard time with it mating up as well. If you have a oem one's around try those and see how it works out.

took a trip to ny, got a few parts along the way. 7 spoke egt wheels ftw

I plan on redoing them, the spray bomb job isn't very pleasing, but hey when they have tires on 'em just roll with it for a while 8-)

Got this today finally, 1 month and 1 day after winning the ebay auction
Took off the hood and oe cowl and cleaned up everything in the drainage area, the little plastic parts were clogged and there were remnants of salt where the car had been up in Michigan a long ass time ago. The wiper arms were starting to show their age so I have a new coat of black paint drying on them now. The little plastics that go under the cowl had tricky 2 piece hardware, I thought you pulled the top off, then the part, then the base. I was wrong and broke a few. Turns out you pry from under the base, or at least it was a lot more successful for me

handling is phenominal, the tires can be squealing going around a corner with little to no body roll. on the other hand I don't recommend driving it for 8 hours at a time like I did this weekend :|
