Off-Topic / new winter beater
« on: October 27, 2005, 01:52:46 PM »
I'm only 23, and the only reason I got a new car was because when I wrecked my probe, I didn't have anything else to drive.  Believe me, I've spent all of my own money fixing it up, and will spend my own money because my mom highly disagrees with the fact that it needs to have more power and look much better.  She liked it the way it was.  I have paid dearly for everything that I have, believe me.  My fiance's car will have ended up costing him over 4 grand in just the small block, so... I know my parts will be more because the cost of all my stuff is double to triple that.

Off-Topic / Ticket...court...etc

LOL!!! That's hilarious mirror.  I don't know anyone with a garage so that wouldn't work for me.   Good luck to ya man, I hope they can't stand in for each other and I hope you get off.  Cops totally suck.  They just think they can make an example out of a younf person with a totally HOT car.  Either that or they're jealous cuz they have a wife and kids and can't afford to have a car like that.  LOL!  O Well... his loss, your gain!

I just took pics of my car today everyone!  I haven't gotten to the good stuff yet.  Just lights, etc.  You'll see.  Keep an eye out and let me know!

Off-Topic / Cops Suck!
« on: October 27, 2005, 05:28:41 AM »
Um, I have 4 tickets on my record and they are all 15 mph or more over the limit.  (Got 2 in 2 months one for 90 in a 65 and one for 80 in a 65) Cops LOVE me!!!  I have never fought one in court.  I have however, taken the state offered 4 hour driving class.  That makes you pay less than half the cost and makes your insurance company not be able to see it.  But, I do know that if the cop doesn't show up at court, you automatically win your case and don't have to pay.  But don't bet on that because he knows who you are and what you were driving... also your age.  He will be there    just to prove how much of a prick he is.  Make sure you have sufficient evidence!!

Off-Topic / Yep...

I used to have a winter beater... it is my '94 Probe that I totalled in '00 then got fixed, then totalled again in '04.  Now it's got red parts on a blue body and looks like hell.  It's getting the alternator belt repaired after my retarded step-dad broke off both the tensioners and failed to tell me.  My fiance was driving down the interstate and everything died!

So, once they get it fixed... he has to drive it because his '87 Olds Cutlass is on it's last legs until he's got his small block completed.  He's almost there, I made him stop until after winter, 'cause posi traction rear ends don't like snow and ice.  So I'm stuck with the Z and her stock wheels with Firestone Indy 500's for winter.

ZX2 Discussion / VIBRATION
« on: October 20, 2005, 03:59:19 AM »
Does anybody have any solutions to the terrible vibrations that ZX2's have?  Mine is absolutely horrible, and my grandmother's isn't so bad.  Anyone have the same problem?  And does anyone know how to fix it.  Using DuraBlend oil helped a little, putting lighter wheels helped a little... but it's so bad that it makes the alignment on my headlights go haywire.

ZX2 Discussion / Ummmm

Have someone check the charge on your alternator.  That's what happened to my Probe.  The further he drove it to try and make it home, the more it drained the battery.  The lights quit working, the power windows quit working, the power steering went out, etc.  Could be what it is.

Performance Modifications / I found one!

I have a shift knob from Summit Racing.  It works okay, but we had to use one from a Honda, and we drilled it out a little so the it would go over the metal rod.  Now, they lost the screws and I'm gonna have to JB Weld it to the shifter.  Can't do that till I get my shift boot.  I'm trying to make it look a little better than it did.  But now my shifter is about 10" tall.   :x

Lighting Modifications / Parking Lights

I was talking about the outside ones.  The ones that are connected with the headlights.  The only kit I can find for all clear is 900.  Any ideas?

Performance Modifications / Yep

Installing an aftermarket in these is a REAL BIG pita!  It took us about 4 hours because of the stupid thermostat thing you have to remove.  Mine was stuck so we had to break it to get it loose.  Auto shifters are extremely hard to find!  Let me know!

Performance Modifications / I have quite a bit...
« on: October 19, 2005, 04:24:20 AM »
I have done a lot even with my lack of $.  I have a muffler, that makes me not need exhaust.  It sounds really deep and throaty.  I have 17" gunmetal Motegi Wheels, It has been lowered about 2", I have an Eclipse head unit, Eclipse 6x9's, and 2 10" Eclipse subs.  Also I have the white Reverse glow gauge face with silver bezel, and tinted windows. My tail-lights will be in Friday.  And I just bought Silverstar bulbs for headlights/parking lights last night.  I'm getting ready to do a tune up since it hasn't had one since I drove it off the truck in March of '01.  It now has 75,000 on it.  YIKES!
It is slowly coming together.  I've kind of gotten all the small stuff out of the way.  Now it's the high priced stuff that makes it run better that I need.

Performance Modifications / Automatic Shifter??
« on: October 18, 2005, 05:13:25 AM »
Hey All, do you know of anywhere to get a shifter for an auto that will work with the side button without having to modify it?  I found one, but when you take off the stock knob you have to cut off the plastic notch.  Help if you can!!

Performance Modifications / I ordered...
« on: October 18, 2005, 05:05:25 AM »
I ordered new Altezza Gunmetal tail-lights for my Charcoal Grey '01.  Slowly but surely!  Next is Intake.  Any suggestions for a poor girl with no job, but has a mechanic as a fiance...?  he he!  I just took my wheels off for winter and it just doesn't look the same.

Lighting Modifications / I GOT SOME!

Hey, thanks again for your help.  My mom works for a Ford dealer and after much complaining, they located me some clear lenses.  They tell me that this was rare!

Lighting Modifications / Small Problem
« on: October 18, 2005, 04:11:18 AM »
Since mine is an '01, in which Ford did the most mods... (they only offered my color in that year and they didn't offer fogs) the actual lenses on the front parking lights are colored Amber.  So what I'm trying to find are new clear lenses that I can replace them with.  Not sure if that's what you meant...

Thanks for your help.  I need all I can get when it comes to this car.  It's hard to find parts.

Lighting Modifications / Parking Light Lenses
« on: October 17, 2005, 03:46:23 PM »
I have a really good question for you.  I was looking to change the parking light lenses on my 01 z.  I cannot find any clear or other shade than the ones on it now, the amber color will not go well with my carbon fiber headlight covers.  I am also supposed to receive my new altezza gunmetal tail-lights any day, and the AMBER thing is not attractive at all.  Please help!
