What the package added
A parts-bin hot hatch, built by the factory
The S/R was an option package on the ZX2 coupe, aimed at the Honda Civic Si and the Dodge Neon ACR. Ford sourced its parts from aftermarket names that tuners already trusted, then fitted them at the plant.
Some 2000 cars left the factory missing parts that were hard to source, and owners went back to their dealer later to have them fitted. That is one reason no two S/Rs are quite the same today.
